Zamo
I though the OP post was funny. Taking the pee is a great British tradition and a cornerstone of good humour. Lighten up people.
theripsaw
Hmmmmm id take a bit of your own advice how can you tell from one post so much about the op? and you would never judge a book by its coevr would you. sounds like a s***hole good description sounds like somewhere not to go !! I agree. Its as honest a restaurant review as youre likely to get. All these 'oooh you cant be nasty and generalise' posters would soon be moaning if they went along for a meal off the back of a good review and experienced what the OP did. Mr1chop
Each month me and the lads go for a good blow out at a local restaurant. Sometimes its an indian, chinese, italian, or funny food. Last night the guy who is in charge this year booked the Marble Court chinese restaurant just off the moor. I knew it was going to be an off night when trying to get there through Sheffields one way system, was like being in the Film Italian Job. What a nightmare, only our leader could have picked such a place. We parked behind the moor in a place which seemd perfect for car thieves to operate. Now the restaurant. Outside were a group of people smoking. Its not too much of a generalisation to sya that they were of a type. Castle Market tat I call them. Badly dressed in cheap clothes with gaudy prints. All the men had black trousers with white socks, ( I didn't know that still happened ) and the women didn't have weight problems they weren't bothered about their size. Then the door. This had a sign on apologising for the state of the door, which was held together with bits of wood nailed to it, after presumably being kicked in by some of the previous clientele. When we opened the door, is when we slipped into another country I am not familiar with in restaraunt terms. The first thing that met you was the slapper, mid to late 40's dancing with another slapper mid to late 50's both with their breasts out.. To the right someone was threatening to punch some one and at the back what can only be described as Grisly Adams meets Compo was running the Karaoke at full volume. Three girls, all Castle Market afficionados sang something out of tune and full volume. No one was eating and when we asked for the menu we were given a card which stated for 9.90 we could have the set buffet. The set buffet could not be seen so we dont know aht was in it. We asked for another menu and the manager said if we wanted anything other thatn the set we would have to wait an hour or two, it was 10.00pm by this time. Needless to say we left and had a good night at the seven spices. I think the chinese restaurant owner has got it badly wrong. hes tried to mix the cannon pub with a chinese takeaway and it doesn't work. I happen to know the owner of the said restaurant, the door was kicked in a couple of weeks ago and all the electrical goods were stolen, He has also seen a dramatic drop in trade over the last year with the demise of the moor and unfortunately he has made the decision to try and turn it into more of a club/disco. His main income before the burglary was karaoke upstairs which was always full with Chinese people singing thee heads off. He does nice food during the day though. But out of order with the Castle market thing. Cannon yes
Mr1chop
I've just had an MSN conversation with a chinese girl I met in the UK. Shetold me a story I've heard so many times before about how she and her friends get loads of drunken idiots for customers and how they abuse the staff. It gives this country a bad name and makes me feel ashamed to be part of it. That's bloody terrible. I have seen in so many of your other posts that say you cannot blame a whole group for the actions of a few, namely in a Islamic debate. Your comment above makes you a HYPOCRYTE. And I can prove it. Your comment above makes you a HYPOCRYTE. And I can prove it. It's not blaming all english people for the actions of some but the vocal minority can give that idea to others. We have the idiot end of racist politics like the BNP. A bunch of cretins that would destroy he country if they ever manage to con the voters into giving them power but I know that not all english are not racist idiots. We have a problem with loud mouthed drunks with no care about who they upset as lond as they can get smashed and puke up on the street but I know that all english are not picked up loonies. We have a bunch of pervert from this country that go to asia to have sex with children but not all British are perverts. It's not the truth that matters it's the idea that other people get from us. People like these give our country and it's people a bad name with other countries and that's a crime.

Mr1chop
Bull. If a place is full of drunken idiot yobs I don't want to be there. It gives this country a bad name and makes me feel ashamed to be part of it. So if a minority of drunks in this country go out and cause trouble at the weekend you are ashamed for the whole of Britain. Sounds like double standards to me

Sounds like double standards to me when a guest in my country is abused on a regular basis by idiot drunken yobs and leaves the country with an idea that all british people are like that it's all of us who have failed. I'm sorry to say that many foreign visitors do. I have the pleasure to know many very nice people from mainland china and malaysian chinese and many do get this idea of us. I was in a take away in Goldthorpe once when an idiot walked in and asked the girl behind the counter for a f**K. Many of the people in take aways see this sort of customer more often than enough so what do you expect the girl to think? If we see abuse of a foreign visitor we should do what we can to show them that we are not all like that. I was invited to that girl's wedding in malaysia last june and had a great time there. I was welcomed by all at the party and no abusive comments came from anyone. Why can't we show them the same respect they show us and welcome them to our country. I have a great dislike for drunken idiots acting like that but when they attack a girl physically or verbally that just makes them low life scumbags. Most people are able to realise that all societies have a small minority of idiots and this doesn't reflect on the society as a whole. My girlfriend is Chinese and she works in a takeaway in Hillsborough. I've no doubt that she has to deal with some complete drunken d**kheads there, but yet she enjoys life here and I've never heard her say that she thinks British people are rude. owdlad
The trouble is that we always remember the one rude/ignorant person we meet long after we forget the thousand good ones, and the same can be said of eating out. Now can we get back to the dodgy snap, and slappers with their puppies out, cos it's more entertaining
