Do you do specific designs, I am after a design which a lot of places say is too complicated for them?

I'm a bit concerned about the "advice" that scottwoodbur insists on dishing out at every opportunity, as well as constantly spamming the forum with advertisments for his services.

Scott - I'm sure other users of the forum would take more notice if you had a small advert in your signature.

Perhaps advice was the wrong word. I could go back through the numerous threads you've posted in and pull several examples but most recently, I refer to you advocating the use of Erase/Eraze and offering it to your clients. No tattooist worth their salt would ever use such a product, let alone refuse to acknowledge that the key ingredient is ACID. This could mean one of two things:

1 - You have no knowledge of the products in use at your studio, but continue to use them regardless.

2 - You know full well what is in Erase/Eraze, but ignorance is bliss.

Either way, it does not bode well for you.

I should also point out that potential tattooees have a duty of care to themselves to thoroughly research their chosen studio/artist before going ahead with any work.

angel_b, scot has posted that he's not a tattooist or a piercer. He owns a studio and employs people to do that stuff. I guess that means that he personally doesn't know all the details and is following the lead from his hired experts. Sounds like a sensible plan. Have someone who specialises in running a business run the business and specialists in doing the stuff to do it.

I'm a software guy, I'd never want to run my own software business because I know nothing about sales, running a business, accountancy etc. But, if I was a business person, I would trust my software engineers to advise me what was possible, what the best tools were etc.

You claim no tattoist worth their salt would ever use such a product, on what basis do you make this claim? Do you have detailed knowledge of the product? Are you a tattoist? (I'm not having a go here, just trying to understand where you are coming from).

E-Raze specifically state that it's not an acid treatment ref. None of the ingredients appear to be acid.

Apologies, wasn't 100% clear, although E-Raze contains Benzoic Acid, it's worth noting that it's not an "Acid" like Sulphuric or something. Benzoic Acid is a food preservative.

The ingredients in order of quantity are as follows Water, zinc oxide, magnesium oxide, calcium oxide, n-propanol, TEA benzoic acid

Mike, you raise good points and Scott, I'm sorry if you've been offended by my posts - they weren't made with intended malice. This is a subject close to my heart and unfortunately, I can get quite "passionate" about it!

I'm not a tattooist and have never professed to be. However, I do have some knowledge of the industry and have witnessed personally the damage that Eraze can do on two of my ex-colleagues who have sadly ended up scarred for life thanks to it. I should also point out that both people had this done independently of each other at two separate studios so blame cannot be laid with the practitioner.

I appreciate Mike's comments about Scott not being a piercer/tattooer but really, if he's going to advertise his business at every available opportunity it wouldn't hurt him to become a little more educated on what he's selling and perhaps to do so in a more subtle manner. I for one do not like opening up one of the few threads that interest me on here to find that yet again, the same business is being touted.

We clearly have a difference of opinion here on what constitutes a quality studio but I don't wish for this to descend into personal insults so Scott can PM me if he would to like carry this discussion on further.

I would advise anyone considering using Eraze or any similar products to carefully do their research first and try to find real-life examples of the "finished product". Don't rely on the photos on the Eraze website - I fear they've been significantly retouched.
