The all things tattoo megathread

Recommended Posts

Yeah Feline is the place. Ask for Guy, he did my boyfriends tats. Fiona's great too. It is very clean and got a good rep. Had my belly piercing done there years ago.

I had my nose pierced in Feline and it looks really clean and everything and the staff are nice too!

I like Eternal Ink though. They're also really clean and kind but they seem to have more room in the studio. Not quite the crampy feeling that you have in Feline.

Also they use numbing spray for the piercings. Dunno about if they could use it for tattoos but I guess not.

What I wanna know is, anyone know of a tattoo studio that doesn't ask for ID?? ;)

No, and I doubt very much youll find one, since tattooing a minor is classed as ABH, and any decent tattooist would rather keep his business open than risk getting shut down and a prison sentence for the sake of a couple of quid

Did you get your tattoo Loopi?

I'm a tattoo virgin and have been trying to find somewhere I like the look of to get my first done (it's one I designed myself, so I'm especially fussy).

If anyone has any pics of tattoos they have had done and are really pleased with, please either post it here or mail it to me, especially if it's a black and 'white' tattoo. Some of the places look great, but the tattoos don't look so hot.

Thanks

Don't bother - tatoos are awful things and look hideously common. Get a transfer so that when you grow up you can always take it off!

Given that I've spent the best part of ten years deciding on whether or not I would be happy to live with a tattoo permanently, I think it's safe to say I've reached a well thought out decision.

As for tattoos looking 'hideously common', that really depends on the tattoo, it's whereabouts, and the person. I'm not planning a St George's cross on my forearm. In ten years time I'll probably be very bored of it, but hopefully by then I'll not really care.

Thanks for your concern though.

Does anyone have any examples of tattoos the Feline has done? The recommendation is appreciated, but seeing is believing.

its not permanent tattoo removal but you can get specialist camoflage make-up, Northern Gen have a department there but you have to make an appointment. The make up is for birth-marks, scars and tattoo coverage. It takes practise applying the make up so that it looks natural but it is really good

My own advice is, if youre going to get a tattoo you have to make sure that you really want it and youre not getting it done just for the sake of getting it done, I have a tattoo which I am really proud of (not meaning to sound pretentious) because it has symbolic meaning for me, and yes when Im old and crinkly I'll still be proud of it
