You have to ask.

1) does it work?

If not, its not its like a Donkey, thats taking part in a grand national, pointless

The key is mind games, shouting "STOP OR I WILL STRIKE" will deter most muggers.

Forget the Kick boxing, BJJ, Judo, Karate etc...

Have you considered Thaiboxing in a friendly environment taught by fully qualified, insured instructors, Shefffield thaiboxing gymnasium (wicker camp):

http://www.wickercamp.com

Currently, there are classes for complete beginners all the way through to competing fighters, Private 1to1 tuition also available.

Thaiboxing is excellent for fitness and self defense.

Come along and have a go (1st class is free)

Aye, Wicker Camp is the place. Brilliant for fitness, learn Thaiboxing, friendly people, instructors who are current world champions, what more could you ask for? (rhetorical question)

stop or i will strike? :hihi:

pre-emptive striking is the way to go for self-defence - learns omething that teaches you to strike with power (thai boxing would be good) - learn about the law relating to pre-emptive strikes, and then maybe learn some grappling techniques. muay thai, kickboxing, bjj, judo - all good for fitness too. yelling 'stop or i'll strike' just gives your potential attacker a further advantage - more time, and you don't have time to waste.
