*Twinkle*
Thankyou all very much for the advice. I like to hear different perspectives. I've applied to the CAB to work as an adviser. I've also enrolled on a project to advise people about low pay, the national minimum wage and their entitlements. All very workey, I know. But I do like helping others and maybe thats just my thing? Maybe that is what will make me feel whole? We'll see.
Crayfish
Don't really get this. I know where I'm headed, just wish I had a bit more time to excel at everything in life (music's definitely suffering a little due to PhD / sports at the moment), and that things would move a little faster sometimes. Time going to waste really isn't much of an issue though... Try a lot of things, there will be some hobbies that you can develop into passions. Buy a motorbike, go scuba diving, snowboarding, breakdancing - something to get the adrenaline going. Be creative with music, art or poetry, read great literature, science and philosophy - there are so many activities available that it's almost impossible not to find yourself passionate about something! I'm happiest when learning and experimenting in science, reading or writing, making music with others or facing a willing opponent in gladiatorial combat. Luckily my lifestyle lets me fit more or less all of this in - it beats big brother etc., I agree with JoeP on the television avoiding front.
