More new knitmags!

Hi KaiteF  .

Vogue Knit.1 has been around for a year or so, I think, though it might be a little longer. The marketing says that it's aimed at the '18-35' age group, though I suspect that its real appeal is actually at the lower end of that range and below. It isn't really to my taste, but then again I am just outside that age group now  .

Do you mean the Vogue Knit Simple? I think Vogue took over where Family Circle's Easy Knitting left off (maybe they took it over, I'm not sure). I like this magazine. Not so much due to the simplicity of the patterns, but that I find that there are likely to be patterns in there that I can imagine knitting, unlike Knit1.

Just seen an ad for 2 new knitting mags - Vogue Knit.1 and GMC's Knitsimple. Has anyone seen them? Are they any good?

Kaite,

If you are in Sheffield call in and flick through my shop copies of the mags.

Knit 1 is for the younger end but often has a surprisingly attractive range of patterns. Knit Simple usually covers kids and adults with some accessories. You never quite know what to expect with the American mags but I absolutely love them!

I can't say I've ever looked at anything (magwise) other than what's on the shelf at wh smith Jill (I know that makes me sound a bad girl), I might come and have a look through the mags too, will you stick the kettle on? I could make cookies and stay all day!! All right, all right, I'm getting carried away, but I really must look at some more mags.

Have a look in the recommended links section. There are links there to the web sites of most of the British and American knitting magazines. They'll give you a bit of an idea as to what they're like.

I like Knit.1 but only to look at the piccies - I don't think I would ever make anything in it - too young for me and I'm only 23! It's kinda like a younger Vogue Knitting. I like Knit Simple though, although I find it can sometimes be a little bit too traditional for me....I think I fall somewhere between the two!

I agree about Knit1; it's exactly like a younger Vogue Knitting.

If I had to pick one of the magazines that said 'me', it would have to be Interweave Knits. There's always something of interest in there for me, whether it's a pattern or an article. Oh to have access to all the yarns mentioned in there though.

I agree - I like Interweave Knits although I have only had a couple of issues of the mags. There always seems to be something to suit everyone. I must admit to liking Vogue Knitting though, although sometimes not too impressed at the limited amount of sizes but what do you expect from Vogue!

I'm addicted to knitting magazines and must have hundreds of the things in my knitting room - funnily enough I could probably count on one hand the amount of patterns that I have actually made from them. I think I just like to drool over all the pictures.

LOL I can relate to that. I call my humongous collection of knitting magazines my 'inspiration', so as to avoid the accusation that I don't actually make use of them  .

I very often get the kettle on and cookies are always welcome :)
