Union Street => Did someone die?

I'm being extremely nosey from my pokey little office that has a view of the end of Union Street and for the life of me I can't see what's going on.. all I can see is a load of coppers and police tape...

 

Does anyone know what's happened?

Do you mean the Currys Sign or the actual building ? Sounds bad.

According to the council website traffic alerts it's the roof that's damaged.

The windows blew out at Currys, the leading is currently blowing off the roof at the Town Hall.

Part of Redvers House blew down earlier as well. I can see Currys from my office window but I can't see any damage - they have shut up shop though.

 

It was quite amusing to watch the police try to tape the area off earlier; the tape kept breaking and tangling in the wind!

I am dreading going home, sounds a nightmare out there. Goodness knows what I will find when I get home, I live near lots of trees and open space, one tree is very close to my side kitchen window.

Apparantly my missus had to retrieve our bin from halfway down another street when she got home at lunchtime.

 

I'm just glad I have work I need to do so I can catch a later bus after the rush hour mayhem dies down.
