Stumbled across an interesting quiz on a web site!

Recommended Posts

I was searching the web finding out info on the 2007 elections in Sheffield and I came across a really interesting site.

I did this quiz which tells you which political party you mostly agree with, and I have to say I was pleased with the result. The questions covered loads of issues and gave a good analysis at the end.

I wonder what other people think?!

The quiz can be found here and the website is http://www.vote-jonathan.co.uk. It also tells you lots about local policies and updates in Sheffield.

Does anyone else come out as loathing labour?!! LOLOL

I'd be interested to see if it tells everyone that they agree with the UKIP the most - with it being a UKIP site.....?

It did me.... :)

I did find the issues covered in the quiz good though, I think there is a statement there that everyone can agree with.

I actually found a number of the options very devisive - and it did score my view of UKIP higher than i would have thought LOL - but even saying that it was not too far wrong

Lib Dems 60%

Labour 59%

Greens 56%,

Conservative 31%

UKIP 21%

It's a poorly thought out quiz, look at Q6 for example:

Question 6: How should Britain tax its workers?

Britain should phase out VAT and instead introduce eco-taxes.

We should replace council tax with a local income tax which will mainly benefit pensioners.

Our tax system is the 2nd most complicated in the world. Introduce a simple flat tax system instead, which would take 4½ million out of tax altogether.

We should cut council tax for pensioners and boost pension savings.

We should keep the current tax system as it makes public expenditure more affordable.

Now there are a number of problems with that question, first of all it's a single choice survey but most of those options aren't mutually exclusive and you could easily favour several of them.

It's clearly trying to push you to select the 3rd option, which I suspect may be UKIP policy.

The answers are a odd mixture of specific and vague and don't really seem well thought out if the aim is to really find out peoples approach to taxation.

Basically the quiz is poorly designed & partisan don't waste your time and just take the far superior Political Compass test instead.

It's a poorly thought out quiz(snip)

In a way it kind reminded me of the daily voting poll in the Sheffield Star.

'would you like to pay more tax? text yes or no to 833*9'

I'm surprised some forum members haven't complained to UKIP that there isn't a BNP option in the quiz :hihi:

Economic Left/Right: -2.75

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.13

Hmm, right in the middle. That buggers up my thoughts on who to vote for.
