There are any number of webhosts out there, but from my perspective, all users want is speed and reliability. Take a look at http://www.webperf.net/?id=perfsummary (be patient with this!) which ranks web hosts on download speed issues and reliability.

 

For many years. my website has been hosted by a company called Newnet http://www.newnet.co.uk/products/webhosting/home Their service and support are second to none and in all the years, I can't remember having ANY serious service issues at all.

 

I guess you really do get what you pay for after all.

you should have a look at Pipe 10 http://www.pipeten.com they're excellent, customer service is top class.

 

I'd recommend them too. Best hosting company I've ever used & they're based in Sheffield too.

That's true, a lot of their limits are quite low. They're just the best I've used, not perfect.

 

Their customer support is quick to respond, their servers seem fast & reliable.

I know it's an old thread but I'm having issues with our current web hosting service. Bizarrely they recommended I go elsewhere.

We currently use KDA Web Services. Not the cheapest but very fast, Sheffield based and with their own kit. Tech support has hardly ever been required but is very quick.
