Glazer wanted please!!!

Recommended Posts

Don't do it!! UPVC is exceptionally bad for the environment as it takes a great deal of energy to produce. It is made using unsustainable resources (fossil fuels), and despite what the manufacturers tell you they are unlikely to last more than 20 odd years.

I know they tend to be cheaper than wood, but when you offset the cost of wooden against UPVC in the long term its far more expensive. Wooden windows canlast for centuries and if bits do break/rot they can easily be replaced. With UPVC if something goes wrong you have to replace the whole unit!!

I agree wooden is better in the long run than plastic but you try finding someone to do it.I need someone to repair/replace wooden framed double glazed windows. I'm in Stocksbridge.Any takers? PM me if you are serious about coming to give me a quote.Simply windows of Hillsborough just didn't turn up for two appointments and have not been in touch since.I have phoned Firths 3 times this week and have still be unable to speak to the person I need. But if I want plastic windows people are beating a path to the door........I can't save the planet all by myself you know.
