hanskiz
Don't do it!! UPVC is exceptionally bad for the environment as it takes a great deal of energy to produce. It is made using unsustainable resources (fossil fuels), and despite what the manufacturers tell you they are unlikely to last more than 20 odd years. I know they tend to be cheaper than wood, but when you offset the cost of wooden against UPVC in the long term its far more expensive. Wooden windows canlast for centuries and if bits do break/rot they can easily be replaced. With UPVC if something goes wrong you have to replace the whole unit!! ww.greenspec.co.uk Check it out for yourself!

footdoctor
I agree wooden is better in the long run than plastic but you try finding someone to do it.I need someone to repair/replace wooden framed double glazed windows.
