Why do all the houses sell so quickly in s6?

Recommended Posts

I'm putting my house up for sale in a few weeks as we are wanting to move back to sheffield i'm on the lookout now but almost all the houses that come up on the internet are sold/under offer.

I need Hillsborough' Wadsley or stannington. I thought the housing market were meant to be slow right now so decided to wait untill feb to put mine up' but it doesn't seem too slow in Sheffield.

So if any of you are thinking of putting your house up for sale in the near future or knows anyone who is and live in any of these areas would you kindly let me know please then i might just get a look in:)

Thanks Rachael

We're about to move to Stannington and we looked for ages...not because there was nothing on offer, but sometimes things just didn't work out.

Having said that every week when we were looking in the property guide there were quite a few houses in Stannington and Hillsborough, so in my experience there's a lot on offer but you have to be prepared to go over the asking price.

Stannington is a very good area to live in, the real Stannington anyway (anywhere above the Sportsman on Oldfield Road), anything lower down the hill than the Turnbull is classed as Upper Malin Bridge apparently.

Only 2 real problems with it IMO, it's a long way from the local Broadband exchange in Wadsley Bridge so don't expect to be able to get anything better than a 512k connection from any provider short of Pipex wireless. And the bus services to the aforementioned real Stannington aren't as good as they could be, cos most First Mainline buses in the area terminate at Nethergate, opposite the Hare and Hounds. and they only run twice an hour, less at weekends.
