bensonhedges
I'v had 4 or 5 cats over the years and all have been friendly to some degree. However my current cat, Diva, has been much less friendly than all the others until recently whan she has started to sit on my knee much more and purr more than she did before. I certainly haven't behaved any differently towards her. Weird. Is your cat friends with you?
Meaks
Was she from the RSPCA or similar? Many cats will take time before they will trust you and start wanting a fuss again - especially if they have been distressed in the past for whatever reason - others just will just treat you with contempt until they want something... Guest
Of course. Merlin curls up on the desk next to me when I'm working, and Jesse follows me around like a little shadow. Diva has obviously only just made up her mind that you're a fairly decent bloke. These things take time .
BobbyBunny
Any cat I've ever had has never been friendly, because I'm so scared of them I have a nervous breakdown when one tries to sit on my knee

Lotti
I was never friends with our old cat, Adolf. I was always scared of her and although she slept on the end of my bed, and I missed her dearly when we lost her, I was too scared to become good friends with her. She was a bit feral... Smudge and I have always been close and she used to come and cheer me up when she knew I was upset but since moving downstairs, Smitch has adopted me and as Smitch and Smudge hate eachother, Smudge tends to stay away, although she's been a more regular visitor recently. Smitch was always a very non plussed cat - she never wanted much company, but as we speak she's laid by side - I'm in bed - meowing at me for attention I'm just getting to know her, after so long - they're both nearly 10 now and I'm loving it. They're finally getting to a stage where they'll come to me despite the other cat being there. I can safely say I'm friends with my cats
Yellowrose
Both my cats are very friendly with me and regard me as their mummy. They both sit on my knee, but not usually at the same time, and sometimes there is a dispute. They reach a compromise with on on knee the other on the top of the chair above my shoulder. But thats usually when the kids go to bed. Garth, the large white one will get on my knee sometimes when Im nursing the baby though, he's done it since she was tiny. She snuggles her little feet in his fur ... would love a photo but if I move so does the cat!
johnbradley
i love my cats. basil's the dribbling lap cat, fairly self interested but will just flop down and sleep/dribble on you at any opportunity. tubby is really cute, always jumps up to meet your hand with her back, and although independent, pretty matey. amber, the mum of the other two, got rescued from a crap sh#thole and has been recovering ever since. quite timid and distant...but sweet if she's in the mood to say hello. I only meant to have one cat though...but having three can be fun, especially if they all go out hunting/defending their patch together:)
