medusa
Well- we've rehomed at least 15 kittens this week at the Cats Shelter (sorry, but you missed the ones that were old enough to go home), and there will probably be more kittens going up for homing within the next 3 or so weeks. Kittens from the Shelter are fully vaccinated against cat flu, enteritis and Feline Leukaemia virus, and they're wormed and flea treated. They also come with a voucher to get them neutered or spayed, and microchipped at the same time, for when they reach 6 months' old. Adoption fees are £65 per cat or kitten, and if you compare the vet costs for the above list you'll find that's pretty good value. Noodle
You might also want to consider a baby boy too. When I went to the Shelter (as above) I only wanted girl kitties because I thought boys would be stinky (!), but we were pursuaded into taking a girl and boy. They told us that if boys are neutered when little they won't spray. Of course they were right. Our babies are both so sweet, our little man in particular is sooo rubbish, he loves his tummy tickling and is just has the loveliest nature. And he smells like a teddy!
