Police Reform - Legendary Band . . .

I like the Police, but I don't think they need to reform really. They started out as a punk band, and they've moved so far away from that, as the police and as solo artists that I don't think there's any reason to go back.

Plus, let's be honest, most people would be happy to see Sting play a few Police numbers in the middle of one of his sets.

Someone must have just received an enormous tax bill. Just like Genesis, it seems a bit strange to be reforming when retiring would be a better option. And didn't Sting and Stewart Copeland absolutely loathe each other to the extent that, when they recorded their last album, they were never in the studio at the same time?

My understanding is that, Sting has been the only one who has refused to reform the band over the last 20 years, but you can't blame him as he has been writing some classics and having a fine time as a superstar.

As for the band fighting towards the end.

They all were under extreme pressure, and had lost their wives/partners over the band being so successful, with constant touring. They felt like record company property rather than people. And it sounds like they had to split up to survive mentally.

When you look back at the Police, I remember them having big pop videos and releasing great singles. They were exciting and before their time in many ways.

Ain't it grand how by not relocating to a tax haven for the last 23 years, can motivate 3 blokes who probably still detest each other - to start thrasing out some TOTP2 tunes together again

Stewart Copeland will always bang his snaredrum too frickin loud.

nutcase:loopy:

Im looking forward to the Stock Aitken & Waterman remix of Every Breath You Take 2007

The 80s pop duo are excitedly working on their comeback performance, 21 years after their last concert, 'The Finale', at the old Wembley Stadium in 1986.

A source at the new 90,000-seat stadium said: 'It would be a fantastic show.

They're still very popular and we think they would fill Wembley out.' George and Andrew are reportedly planning to fly to the US this summer to start recording tracks for a new album, with the possibility of a tour later.

George, 43, made his wishes of a reunion known last year, and asked Andrew to join him on stage at London's Wembley Arena last December.

Andrew, 41 - who now lives a quiet life in Cornwall with his wife and son - pulled out at the last minute because he was too nervous.

Since the band split, George has gone on to have a successful solo career.

His debut album 'Faith' sold over 20 million copies worldwide.
