sccsux
are you saying the ball is a listed building if not I cannot understand your reply Nope. Jaguar Estates bought the old Council buildings at the bottom of Salt Box Lane, Grenoside (which was a listed building). Then squashed it:(. surfinjim
I don't think Grenoside Council offices would have been a listed building. 1. They weren't that old (built post WW2) 2. They were ugly. That said, they were certainly more interesting and in character to look at than the new buildings going up. Jim:thumbsup:
sccsux
how did they get away with that it s the first I have heard of this I have no idea. But they did (I'm pretty sure it's also been mentioned on here in the past) <edit> Found the thread: here</edit> Thoug it transpires that it may not have been listed (though there is no absolute answer). But even that would make no difference, as listed buildings can also be demolished - with the appropriate authority:(.
eric_the_man
Just spoken to Roger from The White Bear and he's quite amazed that his fleeting conversation with Never Wrong before Xmas about MAYBE giving the place a lick of paint sometime this year has got changed into 'ITS CLOSING FOR A REFURB'. in fact, Roger looked quite horrified at the thought of spending money and promised to put more locks on his wallet to stop any impulsive spending. So NEVER WRONG, are you right or WRONG? So there we have it, No refurb, No clean toilets but if you want to take your own money to him then he will consider serving you (as long as you are over 18). Nice camera system you've got installed in there now Roger!! With regards to all the comments about JAGUAR ESTATES, I do think they are taking over a bit by buying all these properties and pulling them down, but after all. Most of them were ugly Crap pubs and they are building what is desperatly needed..................... New Homes. Whether people like it or not they are in the property business and thats what they do just like Barret, Wimpy, North Homes, ETC. no one likes progress at first but we all get used to it, its a way of life. Tony
Ball Inn, Ecclesfield = not listed. Former Grenoside WRDC Office = not listed. Pub in Ecclesfield = underutilied, not wanted. Offices in Grenoside = underutilised not wanted. New homes in Ecclesfield = needed, being built. New homes in Grenoside = needed, being built. There we go, (nearly) everyone should be happy. Sauber
The 25,000 sq ft building, which used to be the South Yorkshire headquarters of Barclays Bank, was acquired by HLW in April and has been transformed by previous owners Jaguar Estates, the South Yorkshire-based real estate developers and investors, in close collaboration with HLW. ------------------------------------ fsbo home selling tip http://www.tryforsalebyowner.com
