clogginchris
We used MFI last year for a major kitchen refit. They were excellent. A home visit to measure up properly, a very good design, and an excellent fitter who arranged and subcontracted the elctricians, plumbers etc.
AtticusFinch
My mum has recently had a new kitchen from MFI and there were a few problems. In the original design she'd specified a double sink, but they later discovered that they'd designed the second sink directly over the washing machine, so she had to make do with one sink only. They then forgot some of the door handles, as some were big and some small, but they'd only bought the larger ones with them. They had to send them to her by recorded delivery later. The main problem came with the washing machine though. The first time she used it, there was a bang and a cloud of smoke. This was about a week before Christmas and they couldn't send anyone out until the 27th or 28th. Before then, the washing machine began filling itself up with water and leaking all over the floor. I think the repair guy managed to fix it though. None of these were huge problems, however, and she's happy with the kitchen now that it's finished. commuter
Seen loads of post hinting of the problems with Simonk, I'm curious now whats the full story? Simonk is thought to be one of the managers at nankivells and always posted full company details along with a glowing tribute along the lines of "we have had four bedrooms and kitchen fitted by them and have never had any problems". It was great sport for while as a number of other posters knew who he was so Simonk baiting became very popular. I, on the other hand, had nothing but problems and would hate anyone else to trade with them being unaware of the potential for problems. Anyone interested is welcome to pm me for further info. LibertyBell
We got our new kitchen from The Kitchen Appliance Warehouse, Green Lane, Ecclesfield. They were excellent from start to finish and not overly expensive either. The fitter, Dave, was a craftsman, not just a fitter. They all seemed to go that extra mile to please. Have recommended them to many and will continue to do so. Well worth a visit. Thats where we're going as well. Great to hear they're good....errr you're not related are you? Frenchie
Hi Libertybell, No nothingto do with them but praise where praise is due, so many companies mess you about, dont turn up, try to rip you off etc. it is nice when a good one comes along and they do a good job. We got everything from them, appliances, worktop etc. We really shopped around went all over Sheffield and found this was the best place in terms of choice, value and service. Do you think they might pay me some commision now?? LOL

Frenchie
Yes they are, its all the little bits of things and extras that add up. Corner Kitchens at Intake quoted us £22,000 for the same kitchen that we paid £7,000 for. How can they justify that?
