Longcol
Got to laugh at this; http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/chelsea/6226679.stm £30m for Shevchenko £24m for Essien £21m for Shaun Wright - Phillips £20m for Carvalho etc etc Wonder who is responsible for inflated transfer prices in the first place? donuticus
Exactly. Whose fault is it that prices have gone through the roof ?
scottishdude
Abrahmovich, (scuse spelling at this time of morning) isn't daft. He's put a freeze on Mourhino's pocket money after he blew it on an old 1976 Chevvy.
ANGELUS
I have to laugh quite heartily when I head this coming from motormouth I have to say The only reason he is moaning, is because he has been found out now, his side are just not as good as previously hoped and they are not dominating like they should be. They have the players, and they had the cash - now UEFA is bringing regulations into place in regards to big money chairmen at the bigger clubs lets now see what Mourinho is made of. Chelsea have wasted so much money its untrue- the millions wasted on Shevchenko for starters who for me has been expensive flop of the season, Ballack has done nothing, Obi Mikel I think is probably wishing he stayed with us to be quite honest, and Shaun WP has made and knows it, the biggest mistake of his life by moving. The defence looks a shambles without Terry and to be honest, its only mainly Drogba keeping them in the title race.
alankearn
If it was my money Mourhino was spending (and he as had plenty) I would want a team that was genuine class and full of skill. I must say they come well down the list of the teams I enjoy watching.
Rushup
The only reason he is moaning, is because he has been found out now, his side are just not as good as previously hoped and they are not dominating like they should be. Found out? They are second in the league, and 6 points is hardly an unassailable lead. Chelsea aren't defending well at the moment, and big players are letting them down. I'm not convinced it will last the whole season. ... lets now see what Mourinho is made of. A UEFA Cup winner with FC Porto. A Champions League Winner with FC Porto, also knocking out an expensively assembled Man Utd side over two legs. That's the stuff Mourinho is made of. While not to the level of Chelsea, Man Utd have similarly wasted huge sums of cash over the years. Veron, Taibi, Djemba-Djemba, Forlan, Barthez... The defence looks a shambles without Terry and to be honest, its only mainly Drogba keeping them in the title race. The defence looks a shambles: 1st and 2nd choice keepers injured, captain and 1st-choice defender injured, injuries to Carvalho, injuries to Boulahrouz.... plekhanov
Some of Angelus's comments were ott but you can't deny that Mourhino's squad this season is worse than the one he inherited and that of last season despite spending lots of money. As for Ferguson wasting money he certainly has made some bad signings over the decades he's been at united and there was something of a glut of them around 2002, however in his short time at Chelsea Mourhino has made a lot of bad signings and very few good ones his record is much worse than Ferguson's.
