max
Get yours valued by at least 3 valuers. Then, have a look at nethouseprices.com to see how much similar houses in your area go for, and how quickly they sell. Using this information you should be able to work out how much you can afford for your 'dream home'. Start looking and don't be forced into selling yours until you've found where you want to live. rosie
Look at windows, ask about how old the boiler is,the roof is it in good condition ahs it had a damp proof course these are all expensive things to fix if you havnt looked properly.i moved in my house in august and my bedroom ceiling came down didnt get any joy from the surveyor as i apparently had a home buyers report which is not a survey so be carefull which you pick. samc
Check the roof - it is bowing slightly could be a problem - you want a nice straight lines. And like Max says get your valued 3 times by the estate agents whom are the busiest in your area.
