Some interesting posts here about the 91 WUG's. I was only 3 years old then.

 

In reply to makapaka. The world student games has been massive.... especially the last one in china 2011. I have been to the last 2 with representing GB. Both were amazing and the china one was out of this world. China spent over 100 billion aparrently. The crowds were amaxing, with over 25,000 at one of our games. It is a shame it does not get more/better coverage as it is the level under the olympics. As far as i know it helps the area of the country... For example in serbia it bought alot of hope to the people and inspired them.

 

Its nice to hear about others who have competed and help at these events. I wonder how things have changed since in terms of numbers, as at present over 10,000 athletes go and live in an athlete village and thats not including the staff.

 

It will be one of the best things i have ever done as an athlete.

If anyone else has the dvd/tape i'd happily pay for it. I have lost my bronze medal (given to all the opening ceremony dancers) and paperwork in a housemove GUTTED!!
