Wanted home for german shepherd 18 months old (again)

I`m posting for a relative of a girl who i work with who has had an unfortunate change of circumstances.

She is now living in a flat with her kids and no longer has the room or the time for her 18 month old german shepherd dog and so she is now looking to rehome him. He MUST go to a good permanent home with a family who can give him the love and attention he needs.

He is microchipped and trained and good with people, he is also bored as he now has to be left as his owner now works and he has started to chew things up.

If anyone thinks that they could be the person she is looking for or knows someone who is then please get in touch.

I will check back over the next few weeks so if anyone has any questions i`ll pass them on.

i`ve just spoken to the girl at work and she`s going to find out later today.

It does seem like the ideal thing to do if she can because apparently he is the biggest softest most loving thing going and it would be a shame for him to lose his family through no fault of his own, he just gets bored and likes to chew :(

If she thinks this could be the solution, there has already been a dog share arranged through this website, so you could advertise here. Many people cannot have a dog due to shift patterns, their domestic arrangements (eg, partner/parents have a cat) or due to a clause in a tenancy agreement

If a share cannot be arranged, have a rummage through our advertising sticky at the top of the pets forum menu. We have at least 2 pet walking agencies posting with us regularly :)

trouble is, you said she lacks the space... unfortunately I doubt a dog share would help out with that much...

Keep in touch mini, thanks for the pm and let me know if I can help xx

You'd be surprised how many excuses can come out of the woodwork once one reason is found ;)

I have a neighbour who has 2 GSDs and used to have a Rott too. It's interesting how much 'space' somebody you love doesn't take up ;)

I suspect that the chewing is putting the dog out of favour, and is making the dog seem to take up more 'space' than he is supposed to :(

I think a lot of people get GSD's because they're pretty, but like a lot of the more 'clever' breeds an unoccupied GSD will drive a person up the wall. Our biggest one Kacey is a terror if she hasn't been walked/fed/stroked/played fetch in the last half hour. She's big, she's fluffy and long haired, she doesn't like other bitches, and she tries to sleep in bed with you... She doesn't take up much space at all.. but if I didn't have as much spare time as I do, I'd be in trouble, my house would be wrecked.. I think the sharing thing might help though.

Good luck x
