kitty123
I am wanting to build an eco home, have visited a site down near Bristol which inspired me, the best way seems to be to get together a group of like minded people and purchase a plot of land jointly and also jointly contract for bulding works to reduce costs, this is my first call out for potientially interested parties. Looking at this as a long term residence, but am now (or in new year) starting to check things out;)

do-a-bull
I have been wanting to do this for a long time too. I have been looking into building a straw house but don't think the planners would be very interested in the Sheffield area; although there are quite a few schemes up and running in the west country. Let me know what you find out.

RosyRat
Kitty 123 Do get in touch with Heeley City Farm and visit their eco-home (a conversion, rather than new but the advice is brilliant).
RichW
I have been wanting to do this for a long time too. I have been looking into building a straw house but don't think the planners would be very interested in the Sheffield area;. Once we solve the problem with the infestation of Big Bad Wolves I don't think it will be a problem. If it all falls down I've got a house of sticks planned. My sucker brother thinks he can out do me with a house made of bricks! The posh flashy git.
ferret
Hi Kitty 123. Do you really want to build from scratch, or convert an existing house? Plenty of scope here.. Heeley Farm definately place to ask questions, if you've not already done so. Good luck.
