medusa
There's a definite con that the resolution of a TV screen is nothing like as good as a monitor for fine work and graphics.
wyrdfish
well if its on o these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-KDLS26A12-Widescreen-Bravia-Freeview/dp/B000B5XLTG then its XGA 1366 X 768 resolution. Which is not too bad for screen area, the only downsize is that will be stretched over 26 inches so the pixels will probably be quite large, so you may find its a bit odd and want to sit a bit further away from it (which according to health and safety you shouldnt do). If you own it already, just plug it in and have a go. Personally I'd keep a tv for tv viewing and get a proper monitor, but it should be useable. dfgenius
An LCD TV with a PC input (or HDMI for DVI connection) is just as good as an LCD monitor, only bigger.
Phaedrus
It depends how far away from the monitor you are sitting and what you mean by 'computer work'. For text and photographic work, or desk work, get a smaller TFT monitor, unless you have really bad eyesight and need icons 2 inches high.
