Dirty Streets in Sheffield?

I went down west street last Saturday morning and was shocked at how dirty the City was. All round tesco it looked like it hadn't been cleaned for weeks.

I was dodging half-eaten kebabs, piles of sick, you name it. It was absolutely disgusting. Bear in mind this was at midday!

I know there's the usual amount, but after showing friends where I'm currently living, we decided not to eat up there because it was so horrible. I felt quite ashamed actually, and embarrassed.

Is cleaning streets not one of the most fundamental things we pay for? Or perhaps the council have their priorities misplaced.

Yes I agree that it should be in an ideal world. But I also think that the people who made the mess shouldn't be such filthy pigs in the first place. :P

I agree there, it does my head in when there's rubbish all over and there's plenty of bins around, although sometimes the bins are too full to put anymore in!

My street is disgusting, people throw their rubish on the floor, and the sweepers are never round here ceaning it up. it is horrible when I see it all over the floor, makes me wonder why I pay my tax

Phone up streetforce and ask them to come and sweep the street you live on. They haven't got a crystal ball they can look into to see where the rubbish is! They will respond quite quickly if get in touch with them.

same can be said for eccy' road any sat' or sun' morning, empty beer bottles ,vomit, half eaten kebabs & pizzas, various other types of discarded food wrappings strewn about.

could it be that the high number of students in these areas is a contributory factor ? surely not.
