Age matters when it comes to dating?

Recommended Posts

We had a quick chat in.. erm chat.. yesterday. at the time it was just a luagh but it got me thinking.

Do you think age matters when it comes to dating? and does it matter when it comes to sex?

for example would a 35 year old dating a 18 year old bother you?

Now please keep this thread NONE ABUSIVE, Lets discuss your oppinions not try and force them onto others.

well when i read 35 year old and 18 year old are dating, it makes me feel :gag:

but then i think back to a few years ago when i was 18 and i used to fancy 35 year olds and date them. but they were quite young acting!

i think it depends more on the people than the age :)

Yeah I really do think it matters.

I'm 18, and went out with an older guy and I thought it was ok at the time but I look back and it did seem a bit wrong.

Even in the past year I know I've matured a lot more and looking back at the way I used to be, I was still a child and it just seems wrong.

If you are both mentally the same age then I think it's ok but I think some men can use younger girls a little bit, so they can get what they want. I don't mean sex but when you're younger you can be moulded into what people want you to be because some people at 18 have not developed their own morals, and if they have - they'd probably change in a couple of months anyway.

Hope that makes sense!

Im 28 and am married to a 46 year old woman and have been for over a year. We were together for 5 years before getting married. Im very happy and I wouldnt change a thing.

In my opinion, age doesnt matter if you love someone. Its your choice and no-one should tell you what to do.

When I was a teenager I never went out with anyone less than 10 years older than me- that was my informed choice at the time, and my relationship with the 35 year old lasted 4 years, so it wasn't a flash in the pan.

I simply do not accept that someone (how would we decide who?) ought to have the right to limit who I choose as a partner- he was my choice (and I wasn't short of options).
