Car vandals - Malin Bridge area

It appears that even in this season of goodwill some people still feel the need to vandalise my car. this is the fourth time this year and has now escalated from repeatedly breaking in (but taking nothing as nothing is left in it) to now kicking in body panels and this week, smashing a window.

I'd like to make an appeal for those responsible to stop, explain why they do it and offer the opportunity for them to make amends.

Similalry, if anyone knows who is doing this, or has witnessed the acts, can they please contact me or the Police.

I'll do the usual thing of getting a crime number and filing it, but I really want to talk to those responsible.

I'd also like to appeal to those in the Malin Bridge area to be extra vigilant and not leave valuables in their cars.

Happy New Year!

It would be a waste of breath. I had all the windows smashed on a car once and the kid who did it was caught and got 5 hours community service. Part of this was to clear up the mess he had made in the yard where he smashed several other cars too. The owner of the yard invited me to go up there and I went and asked him first if he knew me and then to explain to me why I, a stranger, had to work to earn the money to pay for this damage and what was he going to do about paying for it, but then a social/probation do gooder worker turned up and told him not to give me any details and to not offer to pay as he was already doing his punishment of 5 hours. Having met him I was even more ****** off about it.
