Steroids.. Whats the deal?..

Recommended Posts

A few years ago a close relative of mine was taking anabolic steroids to assist him with his weightlifting & bodybuilding. Over a period of about three months he changed from a really nice, caring bloke to an aggressive prat who was quite capable of telling you a really funny joke and then knocking you out for laughing.

I once drove him to someones house to collect money that was owed to him and the bloke told him to p**s off and set a ten stone rottweiller on him. Now this was a really nasty, viscious brute of a dog and not one to get involved with. What did my relative do? He grabbed hold of it & killed it stone dead. By the time he had finished he could almost have posted it through the letter box. Not a pretty sight. Needless to say, the bloke who owed the money was quick to pay up.

If this is what steroids can turn you into then my advice is to give them a very wide berth.

I've never been on them but know a few people that have. Like a few people have mentioned, the side-effects are horrible so I'd steer clear if I were you.

I don't do any weights at all but I still have quite broad shoulders and chest. If you're serious about getting bigger than don't do it the easy way with side effects. Do it the hard way by eating properly, having plenty of carbs and protein and sticking to a strict training plan.

they are extremely dangerous, side effects include bad ecxma, blotchy skin, irritable personality, not to mention the shrinkage of your knob as well as 50% increased heart attacks and ischaemic heart disease.

do what ive started doing, use protein shakes...from myprotein.com, just mix one of them up 30mins after a work out at it rebuilds your muscles after excercise. three a day and one before bed is the reccomendation..ive been a bit salck in recent months, all restarts on jan 01 2007!

Don't think it's cool at all. If someone killed my dog for just defending his territory then I'd make sure the idiot ate out of a tube for the rest of their life.

I concur. I bought a box of protein shakes from the gym and take one of them down whenever I go down. Even if it's just to go running or onto the bag, I get them to mix the shake up for me afterwards to save messing about with dirty pots at home!

The legal position on anabolic steroids is listed here, with other stuff. Just press the next buttn.

http://www.release.org.uk/html/~drug_menu/steroids.php

Basically, they're Class C.

As they're injectables, there's the additional risks associated with needle sharing, and general bad hygiene - from the harmless upwards : - brusining, ulcers, hepataitis, HIV.

None of my business whether you take 'em or not. Just be aware of the potential harm.

They can be taken in tablet form as well.
