Mini_Cooper
While out with the wife in Meadowhall, we stopped off in Costa Coffee in Meadowhall, anyway we are chatting away casually about the new year etc... and on the table in front of us, a woman sits down, picks he baby up out of the pram, and BISH BASH BOSH..... out pops a boob. Now this creates problems...... 1) I keep taking sneeky peeks (as you do, I've been with the same woman for nearly 20 years), as its good to look at another model. 2) The single bloke, drinking his coffee on the other table, is now trying to drink his coffee.... and not look like his trying to look. 3) My wife keeps giving me gentle kicks under the table, every time my head strays. Now, do you women have to breast feed in public ????? if so why???? For all the people who say, men shouldn't look, could I ask the following question (aimed at women)........ If you were going about your business, and a man decided to expose himself, would you look?
upinwath
I don't have a problem with it in any way but men are men and will look. That could cause a situation if the lady takes offence. I would say it's up to her but she must understand men will want a peek or even a go.

Hello, well I only BF for 9 days and in my own house but it is entirely natural (not sure bout those who Bf until kids about 10 tho lol)!, and the reason she women do it in public is because their babies are obv. hungry and where else would they do it? not always a decent paretn n baby room around! Moonbird
Oh we saw the same thing just before xmas in costa coffee, personaly i don't think breastfeeding is offensive in any way, and i don't see why women should have to go and sit in a cold uncomfortable room or worse still a toilet to do it.... but i also think a little modesty is a nice touch, perhaps sit a little out of the way for privacy, not at the first seat in the place right in view of everyone. Even i had to look not in a sexual way of course so i doubt most men would be able to resist the urge of a good nosey.

If you were going about your business, and a man decided to expose himself, would you look? first off, this is a male responce. i do think it is acceptable for a woman to breast feed in public. because i see it as just feeding the baby. yes breasts are sexual 'objects' (for want of a better word) but that is for the bedroom - and antoher room if the house is empty. as for saying it is the same as a bloke getting his 'manhood' out in public, i dont see the similarity, as the guy would be dooing that for the hell of it. if the woman was to get her breasts out and was not going to breast feed a child there would be an issue. but this thread is about breast feeding, so its not included in this. men (not all of us) will look as they dont seem to be able to differenciat betten the two 'uses' of the breast. we have to remember the breasts primary natural function is to feed a baby. and a woman should not have to go in a little changing room inorder to feed a child. Is Costa Coffe the most appropriate place to do this ? would you not say the same no matter where the 'event' took place, surly all cafes and food houses should be classed as the same for this. the location was a public cafe, does not really matter that it was a branded coffee house. yummyyumyum
i breast fed my daughter for 6 months and i would often pop out my boob in public to feed my baba. infact if i have another baby i give anyone permission to cop an eyeful of the milk dispenser if they feel the need, it wouldnt be hard to miss them as i went up to a MASSIVE 36FF. it didnt bother me that people would look, what bothered me was the tuts and disaproving looks and mutterings old ladies would often give me. did they let their babies go hungry if they werent within there own 4 walls??? when its such a natural thing to do why do people find it offensive? Moonbird
Is Costa Coffe the most appropriate place to do this ? There is not always a good place to go to (from experience) and why should mum not sit somewhere warm and comfy with a coffee while she feeds the baby? but as i said earlier a little modesty does not go amiss, there were better places she could have sat, to ensure a little privacy for herself and to stop the Inevitable embarrassment of (some) other people. Respect for the rights of others works both ways!

YOu have to wonder how they managed in their day, they probably managed to feed their babys without the need to expose. As for SEDGE'S response, no men don't know the difference between sexual and non sexual...... a boob is a boob. And for the record, no its not a sexual thing for me...........36FF ???......whoa down boy
NorbertColon
Feeding a baby may be a natural process, but so is having a dump. It is not comfortable for many men to see somebody else's wife present her norks in public, even if they are nice jubblies, any more than it would be comfortable for some people to watch another human being curl one out on the pavement. It should be done in private.
