Miss_S_83
Me yet again! God you lot will be SICK of me soon! Lol. Well I have always wondered about spiritualists, especially since I lost my beloved Grandad 3 year ago, but TBH not sure if I would ever want to dabble with it all.... a lady who I used to work with at a School Clothing company in Halfway/ Westfield once told me she somtimes went to a Spiritualist church at Attercliffe I think, and I wondered if anyone had any real experiences when going to places like this and also what you actually do- I mean do you just find one of these places and go along one night, do they have specific nights etc???? Thanks for any help!!
babyboom
Yes they have specific nights and they are very good too. Wednesday night is clairvoyant night and Saturday and Monday is open circle, where you can go and sit in and see if anyone has a message for you, that's a pound to get in. summer1955
i know of three spiritualists groups, there is one at attercliffe on ball street, one at darnal on sherland lane and one on whitham road just up from weston park hospital. the ones i have been in they dont charge only on their special evenings and you put a donation of what you want in a plate they bring round and they sometimes have a raffle. redissert i read your other thread on ghost where you mentioned your grandad and had wished he had come to visit one of you. he may have done, as anything strange happened in the house since he died, have you found a feather just come from nowhere, may be something that you didnt realy think of maybe some music your grandad liked or something that you would connect to him could be an indication that he was around at the time. also have you had a dream about him that seemed so real, the spirit world come to us in our dreams as not to scare us. well thats if you believe some people dont, i feel sorrow for them as for when something like this happens it gives you such a warm feeling just to believe it was a loved one that is no longer with us and gives you hope that they are watching over us and there is something else after you die

bigben
i used to go to an open circle in firth park but they had to move premises and don't know where they went. i was a bit wary at first so i did'nt speak to anyone so they could'nt find out anything about me. my husband did'nt believe in anything like that until i managed to drag him to a meeting with me where a couple of people come through which was a first for me and made my husband a believer as some of the stuff the spiritulist said about us and the people that came through was spot on and could'nt have been guessed. i think i am going to try the attercliffe open circle thanx summer1955 for info. The Acorn Spiritualist is still at Firth Park - or it was about 6 weeks ago, when I last went! (at the Brushes Community Centre)
papillon
Just be aware when you go, a lot of people hear what they want to hear, and sometimes it can just be cold/hot reading. Don't get disappointed - been there myself.
Eleke95
Yeah I agree with you papillon. It also bugs me when people also take readings that aren't meant for them. There's a particular lady that goes to Firth Park regularly and whatever the mediums throw out, she'll take. She just agrees with everything they say. Don't really see the point in that at all. bigben
it was at the brushes centre, the last time i went which was at the beginning of the year everyone was outside and there was a notice on the door saying that locks had been changed so the spiritulist said they was going to find new premises, they had obviously sorted something out with landlord, is it still at 7pm on a monday night. i think i know which lady your talking about footiefreak she goes with her son and daughter and is always trying to take whoever comes through whether it is for her or not but i think the spiritulist are used to her because they just ignore her. are you able to take children to all spiritulist as this is the only spiritulist i have been to and when i went to brushes centre there was always loads of children there, don't get me wrong they were well behaved but as a parent myself i would'nt take my children. Heyesey
Give me a few weeks to brush up on basic psychology and body-language reading and I can do a spiritualist night for you, just as well as any of those fakers.
