john t
I just wondered if anyone is leaving any food out for animals at night.? I have over the last couple of weeks started to leave dog food withmixer in a bowl on my lower patio out just before i go to bed, or work if i'm on nights.! When i check it the next morning it's usually all gone.! And if there's any left i leave it out during the day as well. I'm not really sure who i'm actually feeding..but i hope it's the fox who lives near me...or the cats who dont seem to have a home.!but won't come to in to my house due to Hollie.! it does seem a tad arwkward for hedge hogs to get to it...but you never know.! I wish i had a camera to film who-ever it is i'm feeding.! jt
Lotti
John t, There's a family of foxes near us and the vixen looks particularly skinny, probably due to worms, but I sometimes put tins of dog food out in a disused factory site where the foxes live - or frequent. I'd just be aware of who you're attracting to your area, and whether your neighbours are happy about this. You may be attracting rats, and any neighbouring outdoor rabbits are put at risk from foxes and rats if they're being attracted to your garden. That's why I put it out in the disused site, because it's not particularly near anybody's garden and they are there anyway. Equally, some cats have dietary intolerances and if these cats are eating the food you're putting out you could be doing more damage than good. Sorry to pee on the bonfire... just thought I should point that out.
