mikeG
Near the Grasshoppers? Hi Chairboy, Yes, thats right, 5 mins walk from the Grasshoppers. Would walk up with mate on a Friday night. They had a guy on called Nat Gonella who was 70 ish in 1976 but still blew a mean trumpet. He played jazz in Manchester in the 30's. A good pint of Boddies if I remember correctly. Nat Gonella was the most famous Jazz trumpeter in England at one time...He played with most of the top bands..And travelled the world....I understand he sold many records 1930's...He was influenced by Louis Armstrong...You can find out lots about him on "Google"
