millwak
I think its a good idea. I know of someone who was recently hospitalised with crow bars by the driver of a taxi he unfortunatley got in, in sheffield. Maybe if that taxi had got a camera in the taxi driver wouldnt have beaten him to a pulp.

The first thing you should always do after getting in a Taxi, is feel round the drivers seat and throw his weapon that they always carry, out of the window, you usually get charged the correct fare ,when he as lost his weapon. tom3t0
May be so but us council taxpayers have funded it so far, with the initial £7000 with no one kicking up who knows how much more we will stump up without our consent? to be fair though taxis are a form of publictransport. maybe the £7000 would be better spent on late night buses etc but i doubt theyll do that

cgksheff
This was an initial trial. Now that the trial has finished, why not ask the council what has happened to the trial equipment and how it is going to be progressed further?
