the ale preferably being Wentworth Oatmeal Stout

I used to make that. It's the chocolate malt that gives it the niceness.

Fray Bentos Piewich...any flavour - in between two thickly-buttered pieces of blackpool milk roll, smeared with ketchup. I'd eat it with cold spaghetti hoops.

This is what we're having for Christmas dinner : Celebration Fish Pie

Serves: 4-6

Ingredients

275 Gram Salmon fillet (10 oz)

4 Scallops, sliced

100 Gram Peeled prawns (3 1/2 oz)

1/2 Fish stock cube

2 Tablespoon Hot water

300 ml Double cream ( 1/2 pint)

1 Teaspoon Dried dill

175 Gram Filo pastry (6 oz)

40 Gram Butter, melted (1 1/2 oz)

Method

Remove the skin and bones from the salmon. Cut the flesh into cubes. Place these in the base of an ovenproof dish with the scallops and prawns.

Dissolve the stock cube in the hot water and add to the fish with the cream and dill.

Place a sheet of filo over the fish, stack the remaining sheets of pastry on top of each other. Cut into 16 equal squares. Brush each square with butter, scrunch up and place on top of the fish. Bake at 180 °C / 350 °F / Gas 4 for 30 minutes.
