Guys and dolls, fancy dress...

i am going 2 a guys and dolls fancy dress party after christmas but am not sure of the era its set in???

 

i though it was 40s-50s with puffy skirts but my friends tell me its flappers which is the 20s the striaght flat dresses - but im sure its not that far back??? the web says it was on broadway in U.S at the start of the 50s

 

the guys and dolls website have images on which show woman dancing with puffy skirts...???:help:

I would say definitely the 50s. Not flappers which was the 20s . The film is one of my favourites,with Frank Sinatra & Marlon Brando.Please rent the video out,as besides being a good story & songs, it will also give you an idea of the style of clothing.
