andyda
Hi, guys Have been lurking for some time, this is my first post. When I moved in to the current house, my girlfriend told me that she thought there was a satellite dish up on the house. I had a look at the side of the house and didn't see it, but thought it could be on the chimney stack and that it must be there 'somewhere' as there's satellite cable/shielded coax coming into the lounge. "Cor," I thought, "an answer to not being able to get Freeview signal in the new house..." A friend donated their old Sky Digital box to me, and I bought some F-connectors, and tried wiring it up. It says that there is no signal. I guess this means I should have checked more thoroughly for a dish .... Anyone reading able to put me in touch with a man who can put a dish up fairly inexpensively ? I have everything else I need (I think - receiver, freeview card, and there's a satellite cable coming into the house.) Thanks guys Andy

Twiglet
Could it be an Ntl or Telewest cable? My old house had one and there was no indication of it being Ntl it was just a brown coax cable.
andyda
ecclesfield aerials 01142577426 try him Thanks for the tip. He's not doing dishes any more. He recommended to try New Channels in Handsworth, who would charge £65 including the dish. If this is the going rate for dish+install, then I might as well just get sky to come along and do it, and buy a package, as it's only about twice that for a dish and full years' service... (including credits for buying online). Anyone know if that is representative for just a dish+install service ?
