Titian
In my experience (if you have paid upfront) then your best bet is to try and get them to do enough work to cover what you have paid. Only if their work is of a good standard though! A contract doesn't mean that much if you have untrust worthy builders as the end result is court action if you are not happy. You may win but stand no chance of getting your money back. I'm hoping that you haven't employed the builders that I did, as we ended up on watchdog. cgksheff
There are many unknowns here, but I would feel fairly confident that you should not pay until satisfactory completion.

cbr900
Have to say , it does make a difference. If you are using a big firm then there is no excuse , however if you are using someone small then a conservatory job is always going to take twice as long for various reasons , but they should have been explained at the beginning. never wrong
why does this always happen after the event did you not check any previous work done by the company.
