A problem with my tv screen

I have a 28 inch widescreen toshiba crt tv.

only had it for a bout seven months. There is a slight problem with the display,it seems way too big for the screen and when you try to adjust it using the screen tube formats it doesnt make any impact.

There is also a inward curve from both sides of the screen meeting in the centre as a straight line )|( <<<kinda like that.

Not sure what the problem is,i have warranty on the item but i gotta take it down and its gonna be awkward.

thought id see if anyone has any ideas first and see if anyone would like to have a look at it/fix it for free?thanks,

Sephiroku, i suggest taking the tv back as it is still under guarantee.

As any tampering with it will make your guarantee void.

You have a 12 months guarantee with the shop you purchased it from, an extended warranty is a different thing.

Thats taking it was new when you got it?

If you are sure it is not the screen settings in the menu and have checked the instruction manual i would take it back.

To me it sounds like a fault and you are entitled to your money back, don't let the shop fob you of by saying it can be left with them for checking out or repair.

And i am sure others on here will tell you the same.

it sounds like bad geometry, you can usually access a hidden service menu to play around with it but I wouldn't recommend it.

how come you have only just noticed after 7mths?

Bad geometry is a common problem with modern CRT's because they just get rushed off a production line with pre-defined settings.
