Pc Game Display Problem

Can anyone help me out here .. i have installed 2 games now ..Lego Star Wars 2 and Sniper Elite .. after only a few minutes into both games the computer screen starts to go really bright white .. then all the picture disapears and just leaves me with a white screen ... i was wondering if its the graphics card that is over heating ..? . the graphics card is a ATI MOBILITY RADEON X600 256MB ... when it does this the only way to get the screen back is to turn the computer off with the power button then back on ... if i turn back on straight away the graphics can still be all over the place but if i leave it for a 30 seconds or so and turn back on all seems fine .. does anyone know of this white screen problem .. what i dont want to do is mess around with anything like update this and update that or try this directx or that directx .. if anyone knows what the problem is it would be great ... i have searched google .. but cant find anything

I can play lego star wars 2 with a 64mb graphics card. But its either the monitor or the graphics card, so test the heat on the monitor. If the monitor seems a reasonable temperature then im sure its the graphics.

 

Does your graphics card have a built in fan? It may be overheating , dont you play other games that work? Or is it all games?

 

Test other things to check if its just certain games, I cant see it being the graphics card struggling.

i have been playin and have completed F.E.A.R and F.E.A.R Extraction Point .. and they were fine no problems ... I started this Sniper Elite again but this time i turned the settings down in options and the game plays ok .. only died once but not from white screen of death it went off back to the desktop then i gone one of them windows messages askin if you want to report error blah blah blah .. lol .. but started the game again and got totally carried away .. look at time .. 3.37 am ..
