Im looking at moving into the area and was wondering what it was like, ive visted it several times now and it seems ok. I was wondering what the surrounding areas were like and if it is a safe area to move into.Any help would be great as i am not local to the area of sheffield and im moving due to work.

My daughter will be selling a 3 bedroom house in this area in a few months time. PM me for details if you are interested.

The area itself is like everywhere else it has its bad days mostly good! The bus service is a little erratic 123 being the day bus along with 723 at night there is another bus but not sure of number it runs in daytime not sure where it goes! A short walk will get you into the Woodhouse village plenty of busses to choose from there. You could also walk up Dyke(sp) vale rd, To catch a 95 only a short walk. Normanton Springs hasn`t got a shop unless you want a fireplace etc or Printing, but just up the hill towards Woodhouse is a small newsagents opposite the school roughly! The pub has long gone. The main road gets quite busy and the area becomes almost unreachable when it snows due to the hills all round

so other than the bus'e being a bit odd the area is mostly ok? ive got a car so thats not a prob with shopping. Its surly got to be better than living in the centre in a new flat? I was just a bit nervous with me having no knowleadge of the area prior to moving.

My mother and father and law have lived in the Springs for the past 30+ years and wouldn't live anywhere else.

Ok, if it snows you're mostly cut off, but how often does it snow and where in Sheffield don't you get cut off?

Theres no pub or shop within a few minutes walk but its only a 15 minute walk to Woodhouse where theres loads of shops and pubs as well as a Chinese restaurant.

Benefits include everyone is really friendly and the old village mentality still exists. Also, just up the mosborough parkway you're a few minutes drive away from Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre or even Rother Valley or the Derbyshire countryside.
