getphysical
Woodseats ABC is run by a guy called Brendan. Training is Mon, Wed ,Fri at around 6pm I think. It's based at the Double Six Club at the bottom of Scarsdale Rd. Good friendly group, all ages and abilities. Sorry don't have a phone number to hand but you can check out amateur boxing clubs on the web and their details will be listed.
richardquinn
hi, the wellington street boxing gym is good. there is 2 gyms there, one runs on a pay per session system and the other runs on a weekly or monthly membership. the one which is pay per session has set times for training where as the one with the member ship is open from 9-6 monday to friday and u can go in when ever u feel like it, the gyms are located just behind corparation (night club). they are both really reasonably priced and have good coaches. skoolsout
Woodseats ABC is a great young club (been going a couple of seasons). See http://www.woodseatsabc.blogspot.com for details. The Amateur Boxing Association affiliated clubs in the Sheffield City Council area are: Sheffield Boxing Centre ABC Steel City ABC Parson Cross ABC Manor ABC Woodseats ABC Sheffield Lane Top ABC Handsworth ABC Unity ABC St Vincents ABC and the newly affiliated Don Valley ABC All these gyms allow people to come to try out and just train if they want. If you want to compete in the future you'll need to box out of one of these ABA-insured gyms. Tom Bradley's gym - Tough Guise - is not affiliated, but I believe that he forwards boxers to Steel City etc if they want to compete. ALL contact details for these clubs can be found by going to http://www.amateurboxinginsheffield.blogspot.com and clicking on the links on the right of the page. Good luck.
