savbaby
i am wanting any advice on feeding my piggies and bunny. Victor (bunny) has exel rabbit pellets and the piggies have normal shop bought guinea pigs mix as they wont eat the exel guinea pellets. Would it be dangerous to feed them the rabbit pellets as one of them has been sneaking into the rabbit cage when they are all out and eating his pellets! if its safe then i am considering putting them all on the same as its easier having one bag!! Any advice would be much appreciated.x.x
swfcgal
I don't think it is dangerous as people keep both guinea pigs and rabbits together. I can't see any harm in it but if I were you I'd ring your vet or something just to make sure!
baileys_mum
No, DO NOT feed guineas rabbit food and certainly rabbits and piggies shouldn't be housed together. Piggy food is suplimented with Vit C as they cannot produce thier own. If you are concerend buy complete pellets

And a friend of mine has a rabbit and a guinea pig together that get on like a house on fire, they even snuggle up together at night!

If you are concerend buy complete pellets see the pigs dont eat the complete pellets but they have been eating the rabbits when they sneak into his cage, they are not housed together and i know they should never be, i have had many arguments about it!!! something to do with the rabbits kick can kill the pigs?? They have freah veg/fruit everyday. i will stick to what i am giving them and just have 2 bags
sooz22
Because pet shops are no experts on small animal care and those that know better will look the other way for a sale. Even P&H care sheets say they should not be housed together but they will do so for a quick sale. Rabbits are likely to injure/ kill piggies and a pig is no substitute for a rabbit companion. They should be paired with other rabbits, they are highly sociable and need the comapnionship of their own kind.
