7hills
usps attempted to deliver a parcel to me on friday but no one was home, now they didnt leave a card, the only reason i found out was through tracking on the USPS global delivery site. So how do i get this redirected? the only contact number i can find is for the US, surely they have a base in the UK, can anyone help me get my parcek

cgksheff
If you really mean USPS - The United States Postal Service - then Royal Mail/Parcel Force will be the one to contact. Unless it was sent "Global Express Guaranteed", in which case FedEx (08456 070809) should be delivering it. If you mistakenly mean UPS - their UK contact is: UPS Forest Road Feltham Middlesex TW13 7DY Customer Service: 08457-877-
7hills
well its actually Global Express which i thought was part of USPS, i use the USPC site to track the parcel. I tried royal mail but they said they have nothing to do with these companies. edit- its definately USPS and royal mail have nothing to do with these. crabsalad
aha something I may be able to help with.. i also had a delivery from USPS, it said on their website that a delivery was attempted on friday, however there was no sign of them.. This morning I received a letter from parcel force saying that they are holding it for me at their rotherham depot, and that it requires paying of VAT, which once paid allows them to send it on to me. So.. I suspect that where on the USPS site it says that a delivery was attempted it actually means that it's been handed over to the local parcel force depot or some such. I'd expect you will receive a letter like I received very soon - especially if you were expecting to pay VAT (or even if you weren't expecting it!) on your package from America.. 7hills
cheers crabsalad - ive just called home and there was a letter waiting for me, exactly same thing - cant deliver unless you pay the £60 charge!!!!! the item only cost me £100 haha so why the high charge???? but at least i know parcel force are holding my package, now i need to find out why the charges are so high, £60 import tax on a £100 item seems a little steep. crabsalad
£60!? goodness! my item was £100 too but i was just charged VAT on that and then a £10 handling fee. yours was obviously a more delectable thing in the eyes of HM Customs!
7hills
yeah i feel i have been duped - ive contacted customs but they dont want to deal with it, they say i have to right a letter to the US postal service to find out why? sounds a bit fishy to me, ill probably just pay the charge and learn from my mistakes!
