Beancounter
I drove past the New Norfolk pub on the A57 at around 2pm on Saturday afternoon, and there were 3 fire engines, 2 full mountain rescue crews, an ambulance and 4 emergency doctors parked up. They seemed to be looking up the hill into the woods. I can't find anything on the news sites, so wondered if anyone knew what had gone on. Beancounter
thanks so much copperpenny. I had no idea that sooooo many crews from so many different emergency services would be needed for one climber! By the way - welcome to SF. As you can see - I've not been here long myself - but it's a great place!

medusa
And there was me going to make a quip about the Christmas party at the Norfolk (which was yesterday) making a bigger impact than anybody thought- and it appears that someone really was hurt. Hope they'll be ok.

medusa
Well- it appears that lots of people were called out to attend a climbing accident. The Norfolk is now being run by the ex-manager of the Dove and Rainbow in town as a biker friendly pub, and the party was held by a biker group. I didn't get to it myself as I was double booked, but I'll probably be investigating it soon. Anyway- back to the topic. I'm not sure that there will be any more details forthcoming, unless someone knows the person involved.
