Blades Chat #6 Discuss Sheffield United here

...and it didnt happen :)

Good game lads, even when Villa had a 12th man on the pitch wearing yellow.

I thought that the ref did quite well actually.

There were no "howlers" from him and I thought that he let the game flow most of the time.

Got to commend the crowd, they were so noisy that it was difficult to hear the commentary sometimes.

Thought that a draw was a fair result though even though it was a little disappointing.

Depends where you look from; at 8pm I'd have said a draw against a team that's only lost two game all season so far was a fair result, but hoped for better. At 8.05pm, I'd have been very happy with a draw; when Baros equalised for 2-2, I was gutted that we hadn't won. :hihi:

We won't be looking back at the end of the season and picking this game as the two points that made a vital difference, I'm sure of that. It may not be an entirely good result, but it's far from a bad one.

3 in a row in the Premiership unbeaten, and we moved up the table one spot I will take that Heyesey

I dont think we will go down, but we need to be winning the winnable home games and tonight was one of them.

Now we will see what we are made of with 2 tough away matches,Right now I will take a point from each

I think that somes up the night. Although before the game, in the pub, I was the only one that wasn't gonna be happy with a point. I wanted 3 tonight, but like you say, at 5 past 8. I was more reasonable. :hihi:

Tough games coming up, I agree CB a point from each. If anything, I think we might do better against Pompey. I can't see us getting anything at Wigan.

(always the optimist:hihi: )

I am thinking the other way round if anything Ash..lol

A point at Wigan and nothing from Pompey but hoping to get a point there, having said that we always draw at portsmouth

Last time I went to pompey the linesman got knocked out :gag:because Tracey got sent off and Shaun Derry went in net and we drew 1-1

Got to be an optimist Ash, Its all part of being a Blade ;)

I'm thinking a win at Pompey, (wouldn't have mind going to, one of the only prem grounds I haven't been to, but I'm working).

I think and have all season that teams that just expect 3 points off us, can be beat, but early on, we've shown too much respect in games that I think we could have won. (Man City, Fulham, Everton and maybe even Tottenham for example)

But at best a draw at Wigan. We haven't been tought a lesson all season, and I have this feeling that Wigan of all teams might be the one. Hope I'm wrong, I'd take a point now from this game.

I thought it was a cracking game, especially the second half. At half-time I'd easily have settled for a point - Villa looked like scoring every time they went forward - but after the second half I feel a little disappointed we didn't win it. But, like I said, we could have been dead and buried by half-time.

We should look back at a well-earned point. I thought Villa looked impressive, especially Petrov (what we could do with a player like him). They were well organised and had experience in all areas. Some of that experience seemed to influence Mark Halsey at times but in general he handled the game fairly well (although if Angel's elbow had been in, say, Drogba's face and not Morgan's, he would have been sent off. Morgan to his enormous credit stayed on his feet instead of dropping to the floor as if hit by an Exocet missile).

But in the second half we reorganised and competed well. Jagielka was magnificent as were Gillespie and the young Johnny Rotten, Quinn.

The lads should take heart from this performance. Villa are a good side with a top manager and I can see them finishing in the top 8. As a young side, we're learning and look as if we belong in this division.

Anyways, if we'd taken maximum points we'd all start getting carried away, wouldn't we?!!

We were terrible the 1st half probably the early goal threw us,but the 2nd half we were great & if we had played that way in the 1st half we would have beaten the Villa no doubt, but were are 3 unbeaten now that is great & edging away from the drop zone.Congrats to young Quinny a great goal & he deserved it after losing his mum a while ago.

The Football Association will study video footage of Monday night´s match between Sheffield United and Aston Villa at Bramall Lane after striker Juan Pablo Angel appeared to elbow Blades captain Chris Morgan.

The flashpoint happened towards the end of a thrilling 2-2 draw and was the prelude to angry scenes in the tunnel area after the final whistle.

Morgan was seen to race off the pitch - closely followed by United assistant boss Stuart McCall - and Villa manager Martin O´Neill admitted "a few words were exchanged in the tunnel".

Ban the dirty tosser.

Agreed we would get carried away much like our neighbours in S6 are doing right now.

I have seen the youtube clips that Ally68 puts up and to be honest the defending in the league Championship is horrendus to say the least :suspect:

As for the Blades we need to take all the points we can get when we get them and being in the position we are in we have to hope other teams help us out a bit ;)

Still if we move up a spot everytime we get a point we should be champions by March :hihi: :hihi:
