Mandem
Just go out and have a look at the moon, over in the north east way, it is a big orange ball.

Jabberwocky
Its huge and low in Leicestershire. Its near the horizon so it looks massive.
bigflesh
Wow, that's certainly a big round hot looking moon. It's low down and massive.
Jabberwocky
The moon is always the same size, the reason it looks bigger when its low is... Erm... I forgot. I need coffee. Someone take over please and supply the explanation.
bigflesh
The moon is always the same size, the reason it looks bigger when its low is... Erm... ... because its nearer the floor. the saggier they are the bigger they seem. them moons.
Heyesey
The moon is always the same size, the reason it looks bigger when its low is... Erm... I forgot. I need coffee. Someone take over please and supply the explanation. Optical illusion, caused by there being buildings in proximity, to which you can compare the Moon. When it's in the middle of an empty sky, there's nothing against which to compare its size, and your eyes mislead you.
Heyesey
... because its nearer the floor. the saggier they are the bigger they seem. Wrong sort of moon: and if yours is orange, I recommend seeing a doctor.
Jabberwocky
Of the two above explanations I like the first one, but the second one is factual. The moon is the size of a pea when held at arms length weather its low to the horizon or at its highest point. Interesting stuff, isnt it?
bigflesh
Wrong sort of moon: and if yours is orange, I recommend seeing a doctor. I've seen all sorts of moons in my time. Some of them certainly give off an optical illusion. Can't beat a size 10 moon though.
