NEKRO138
I expect this thread to sink straight to the bottom, never to return. But anyway. Is anyone going to see the MC5 at corp tomorrow? An extremely influential band. And very good too!

An extremely influential band. And very good too! You are a strange one! You like the MC5 and acknowledge their huge influence on music - yet you don't appear to see the merits in the Arctic Monkeys or Pete Doherty? I don't quite understand that.... StarSparkle They are a different breed. I recognise that they influenced this tripe you speak of, but that doesn't mean they're good. A good example of this would be Limp Bizkit naming Faith No More as their biggest influence. I love Faith No More, but Limp Bizkit, I do not. NEKRO138
And as for me being 'a weird one'... I turn my nose up at such a suggestion.

Maybe you should listen a bit harder, give young musicians a bit more of a chance? Bands that have been influenced by the likes of the MC5 can't be all bad, can they? It's in the best rock tradition StarSparkle

And I missed MC5 due to me contracting some kind of terrible disease.
*Turbo*
Sorry StarSparkle, i'm with Nekro138 on this one. Chris_Sleeps
I went to ATP and they played there, but the venue filled up hours before. I had to wait for nearly 2 hours to get in and see The Stooges.

You've clearly never seen Pete Doherty perform then - rivetting, charismatic, cant-take-your-eyes-off-him. Star quality oozes out of him. The man has everything needed to be a total rock legend - you may not like his personality, but he is a rock star par excellence. StarSparkle I have seen him perform live - sweating, talking ********, looking like he has no idea what he's doing there, laying on the floor a lot. He has nothing. He is nothing. Nothing but a drugged knobhead you can meet on the Moor. No charisma, no prescence, no talent. I met him once too. What a ****. This was a thread about the incredible MC5, not that knobhead, so I won't be posting on here again anyway.
