Winter, what do you think of it?

Recommended Posts

I personally hate it, and have had enough. This is my last in this country, we are selling up and getting out to where it is warm the whole year round.

People say, 'You will miss the snow', yes well we dont get snow anymore, just cold, wet, windy, dull days.

I have had 55 winters, and that is enough.

Artisan - the way the climate's going, give it another year or so and we'll be on the Costa Del Attercliffe!

Global Warming can be your friend!

Global warming! I saw a butterfly in my garden yesterday, and there are wild poppies still in flower on Norfolk Park estate.

It is very odd - there are trees aroudn here that are still carrying soem leaves that in previous years have been naked by now.

At least the heating bills will be a bit lower than usual! :)

They do say that this due to be the warmest ever year on record.

The summer we just had was amazing.

I recently went to Fuerteventura for a holiday, they have no natural water at all. Rain hardly ever falls on the island, and drinking water has to be made from seawater.

There are no rivers or streams, and grass does not grow.

Yet it it seems to hold more promise for me than my homeland.

The people there seem to be working hard to improve their island, investment is being is being made.

I have been to many places, but these seem to be trying harder than most.

If I were proficient in the Spanish I would move my business there tomorrow.

Bet you start complaining about the wind if you move there :hihi:

I think one of the great things about this country is that every season is different. Each has it's own charms. One of the best feelings in the world is getting home all wet and cold and putting your feet up in front of the fire. They don't do that in the Canaries now do they?
