TeaFan
In plain English. I don't have a scientific brain - is there anyone who can explain the basics of quantum physics for me? (I have done some philosophy, and I understand that quantum physics sort of comes under that heading, but I don't understand what it is).
artisan
The only bloke would be someone called Max Planck. The name itself is a p take isnt it? Albert Einstein, another one. Its a great carry on, you talk nonsense all your life, confuse everyone, and make a fortune. If they were alive today, they would be making computer viruses, it is the same kind of nonsense. :hihi:

The short anwser is it is used to predict the behaviour of objects on small length scales (typically electrons, atoms I suppose). However you can only predict the probablity of what will happen in the future and NOT what will happen to these systems of particles/atoms (of course in newtonian physics you predict what will happen given some initial conditions)
Bartfarst
Ask Bartfarst ........... he seems to be the font of all knowledge on every subject!Actually no- I've never really read enough to quantum or relativity to consider my opnion sufficiently well-grounded. That doesn't mean I don't understand it though

(often used with a negative) the least possible amount that can suffice:there is not a quantum of evidence for your accusation. 4. something that can be quantified or measured. 5.
