claire1979
Yah York is ok but too touristy, very small compared to sheffield but it is nice to go back to visit my family. (just come back from a weekend there)
keithhazel
im not in sheffield, but my girlfriend is, well on the outskirts, only 63 miles away, if it was 63 thousand miles i would still get across whenever i could as she is "out of this world"...in more ways then one.lol.... .....i like to come to work in sheffield as the people are very friendly and warm, befor people here on the forum keep knocking parts of sheffield and some of the people they ought to spend a day in Hull where the people are very closed to you, negative and not always friendly....not all but a bigger percentage then sheffield.... The guy I work next to is from York and he doesn't like Sheffiled as a place but says Sheffielders are great. He reckons York is very snobbish - but the city is lovely. keithhazel
i think maybe part of york is snobby, but when we have been there and recruited for our surveys where they come into the methadyst church near the shambles they are very friendly and pleasant, even in and around the streets people are again friendly, but i do feel when you work door to door they do give off the impression"what you doing knocking at my stately manor", even if its just a 3 bed house......again not all but definatly not as warm as the(like me) working class people.
