duckweed
I have a perfectly good gas fire, was burning well no discouration round fireplace, good colour. Gas people came tested fire and said it was okay. Then he phoned his works to find out how to test chimney. Put in smoke cones, seemed okay to me, no smoke came back into room but he said he didn't think enough was coming out the chimney. It was a grey day and not easy to see smoke. He said might have pidgeon stuck in chimney. I pointed out we had a cowl on chimney and no pigeon could get in, so he said maybe brick fallen. Well it is an old chimney but no debris at the bottom at all. Would have expected some soot fall or motar if something had dislodged. Despite arguing fire was capped off. I phoned gas people and asked if I could have a second opinion but they point blank refused. Gas showroom Guy I spoke to said it sounded like the gas guy didn't know what he was doing, probably the most the chimney needed was rodding but he doubted anything was wrong. Anyone know a Corgi fitter who could do the tests again and is willing to put it down on paper so I can claim his fee back?
