Haddock or Cod...can you tell??

Recommended Posts

Mackrel.! Has something atttached to it sometimes.I think its sea lice.

No this was an actual pale coloured worm, about 5 inches long that this geezer pulled from the rear end of a cooked haddock or cod.

Come to think of it, it might have been Cod.

Whatever, - if it had been immersed in boiling oil for a while it would be dead wouldn't it ? :suspect:

I used to like the big lumps of moist flaky cod in crisp batter you got in Scarborough chippies, - but that was a lifetime ago :(

And ISTR Cod was a tanner and Haddock 9d.

All fish have fish worms. They are a clear thin looking worm that thrive on fresh fish.

If you eat fish you have ate the worm, guarenteed.

I use to manage a chippie both had fish worm.

If you buy fresh fish & you see the worm wriggling you've got a very fresh fish.

If it was dead you wouldn't see it but it wouldn't be as fresh as where you saw on wriggling.

It won't hurt you & is very normal.
